The Marchés Publiques de Montréal (MPM) are a vital part of the city. There are some 15 markets all around the city, each open all year round with different products depending on the season. They are known for their “village-like” atmosphere and their interest in eco-friendly products and sustainability. They strive to support local farmers and sell the freshest produce they can.
The concept behind this baba ghanoush packaging is that the vegetables found at the market are naturally imperfect but still perfectly good to the taste. To represent the perfectly imperfect vegetables, a texture was made to show that those imperfections can be beautiful and should be appreciated. With the market’s values in mind the paper is completely biodegradable and the glass jars reusable.
